Story

This small craft distillery was founded in 2012 by the Wrightson family. Skip Wrightson, owner & distiller, grew his love for scotch whisky into a hobby, then into a second career. An animator by trade, he began attending workshops studying the production of whisky, eventually completing apprenticeships at distilleries in Scotland and Sweden, knowing he was working toward opening a distillery of his own.

In the interest of creating unique distilled spirits, Cape Cod Distilling Company will produce and age spirits on the Cape, taking advantage of the coastal atmosphere and the changing seasons to shape the character of our spirits.

Cape Cod Distilling Company will open to the public in 2018. Join our mailing list if you’d like updates!

Craft Spirits

New Make

New-make spirit is what a distilled product, usually from malted barley, is often called before aged in oak barrels to eventually become whisky. The ‘new-make’ which we produce is tasty right off our stills and is quite suitable for drinking as ‘spirit’. So, while some of our new make is put down in casks to age until it becomes Cape Cod Whisky, the rest is transformed into other unique products such as our Cranberry Moonshine and our Single Malt Gin.

Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.
